MFH3 RUN111 0606RUN

MFH3 Run111 on 8th August 2009

There was nothing extra-ordinary about the run except it was a run in the housing estate even our Minister of Hares Abang Hin was not around to perform his duty which was delegated to Calvin “Kaulin” Chin with the help of Ng Boon Heng “Sotong” & Alice.
“Tayar” Leong’s house had a vantage point of the Nasoob Jaya housing estate with half of the space reserved for playground was cemented & converted into a private parking lot. GM Uncle Lee was not around to flag the run so Lawrence “Lolin” took the initiative to show the excited runners the starting point. I was the sweeper that night with the sole duty to clean up the litters done by the Hares & their gang, but then “Kaulin” & Alice forbade me from picking up the litter saying, “the area was dirty anyway.” Having shoved my civic- mindedness in the closet of my house, I just followed what they suggested which later cost me a “Down-Down” for not following the instruction agreed during the meeting.
Following the shredded papers out to the main hi-way (another mistake that “Kaulin” did for not sticking to the agreed condition of the run which was to go on opposite direction of the traffic), there were two MFH3 signage with 1 carved from cardboard with non-descript scribbles on it. It was an easy run for those who like jogging since there was no hill to conquer nor streams & ravine to cross. We didn’t realize how hazardous it was to run on the same flow of the traffic until one car swerved beside Alice while she was walking leisurely towards the junction of Eden Heights. Immediately she jumped to the grassy shoulder of the hi-way which was also poorly lighted.
From there Lim Joo Seng “d’Lost1” together with “Lolin” caught up with us then slowed down as we turned in towards the street of Eden Heights. Joseph Sim likewise overtook us just before we turned towards the base. For the FRB’s it was just under 20mins, so Joseph went for a 2nd round. Uncle Lee came in not to run but to drink an array of beer.

On-On

Since the run coincided with Mrs. Leong’s birthday, “Tayar” Leong purposely catered the food ranging from sweet sour fish to fried chicken & curry chicken. Prawn in veggie salad complemented the spread that night with mixed veggie & fried ‘popiah’. However the most popular dish of all was the ‘Tongkat-Ali’ soup from Foo Ping known for awakening sleeping/slipping libido. There was also a platter-full of cut-fruits for dessert. Of course like any other run, there was a free-flow of beer—& was too inebriate to count the types of beer to down.
When it was time for the Hash-Circle, GM Uncle Lee had that devilish smile of coercing the Hares “Tayar” Leong & Paul Wong along with the co-hares like “Kaulin”, “Sotong” & Alice. The next in line were the guests like To Bak from Tawau Hash, Alice bf from Orang-Utan hash.
I’m still wondering until now why MIA Douglas Squareball was roped in to do the down-down. Anyway, GM Uncle Lee when he says you do the Down-Down, oyu do the Down-Down. The no-cow run group were the next one to be penalized with the same sinister smile from GM Uncle Lee as there were a big group of them. The hollering voice of Uncle Lee plus the drunken scream of To Bak attracted the passing police car and told us that the level of our noise had become nuisance to the neighbourhood. Iy was easy to appease the patrol car with few Isomax & packet drinks from “Lolin” not as a bribe but as token of “hormat”.
As the excitement subsided, we were ushered to the buffet table again to celebrate the birthday of Mrs. Leong who happened to be married only about six months ago.
